We encourage media outlets to cover stories that relate to the financial risks of factory farming. We give special attention to getting coverage in outlets that are influential among investors. Stories range from news of increasing regulation and costs in the industry, to announcements of divesting institutions that signal that there is no future in factory farming.

We encourage and support various stakeholders to pressure large institutions to divest from factory farming. An example of this work is mobilizing students, faculty, and alumni to compel their colleges to pledge never to invest in factory farming companies.

We work with large institutions well suited to leading the market away from factory farming investment. This includes helping large investors such as college endowments, pensions, and philanthropic trusts to transition their funds out of factory farming. We also encourage asset managers to provide factory farming free investment products for the growing number of consumers and institutions who avoid investing in factory farming because of its risky returns and abhorrent practices.

We try to popularize challenging the economics behind factory farming. There are many groups of people who have a vested interest in seeing the decline of factory farming. We are building capacity by providing supports and incentives for academics, environmentalists, animal advocates, and plant-based investors to take up efforts that erode the economic pillars of factory farming. Recruitment for related work will also be a key aspect of our efforts to build capacity for this work.

Where the factory farming industry downplays and hides the fiscal risks of its operations from investors, we work to raise the awareness of these risks among investors. These efforts take many forms and include targeted outreach and advertising to populations engaged in the worlds of finance and economics.
