Other financial risks include: Stranded assets, food poisonings, human rights scandals, waste regulation, competition for resources, shrinking labor pool, carbon taxation, transition risks, resource scarcity, poor working conditions, community health class action lawsuits, loss of social license to operate, social backlash, stock reclassification, changing consumer opinions and behavior, barn fires, weak corporate oversight mechanisms, sustainability disclosures, corporate governance issues, and soil degradation. There are many other risks and the above is only a partial list. Industrialized animal agriculture is a very complex and risk prone industry. Consumer, market, regulatory, and environmental trends are steadily increasing the risks faced by factory farming operations and investors.
